Hello friends,

As you may or may not know, I have been trying to become a published author in a number of ways. I have completed a couple of novels, which I am currently working on. In the meantime, I've been writing short stories.

These short stories, I have compiled into an anthology of ten short stories. There's a number of different genres covered and I hope there's something that everyone can enjoy.

But, I can't publish it on my own. Due to my health and my financial situation, I need support.

This is where you come in.

I have just launched a Kickstarter campaign for this anthology, entitled Odds & Socks. I would be honoured and hugely grateful if you were to support it. It would also be an immense help if you could spread the word, let the world know and encourage others to support this project of mine.

I have so many more stories in me. Most of them are much longer than those compiled in Odds & Socks. This anthology is just the start.

But every start needs a support.

Thank you in advance.

I have just set up an e-mail account exclusively for newsletters etc. relating to my novels and original writing. If you are interested in becoming a test reader for my novel, you need to sign up to receive these newsletters. I will also be sending exclusive short stories which are set in the same world as my novel series, so you can get to know the subsidiary characters too.

Alternatively, if you just want to receive the newsletter with no additional requirements, that would be awesome too. That way, I’ll be able to keep in direct contact with my potential readers and maybe throw a few exclusives your way too!

Please just comment with your name and e-mail address so I can add you to the mailing list. If you do not want to add your e-mail address on this post, please just message me it. After I have your e-mail address, I’ll drop you an e-mail from my new account. All you have to do is then reply with what level of subscription you are interested in receiving!

I hope you want to join me on this exciting journey.

Okay, so... here's the thing. My depression hit rock bottom and the additional trigger of spoiler wars turned me completely off fandom. It meant I switched off, stopped reading fanfic, stopped writing it, stopped going on Paint It Red, stopped doing everything. I already had a backlog of fics that have been written especially for me which I am yet to read. There may also be stories that you have wanted me to read which I haven't gotten around to yet. If this admission fits any of these criteria, please - leave a link to the fic in this post and/or e-mail it directly to me! It's about time I showed you the thanks you deserve for doing these kind things for me.

In addition to this, I want to say another thank you. Thank you for your support. During this tough time, it's hard for me to pull myself out of the black hole that is depression. Things are slowly getting better, but it is hard for me to claw my way out of it. Sometimes the light at the end of the tunnel is a little brighter. On other occasions, it is almost extinguished again. It all depends on what is happening to me, and how I am feeling on any specific day. But, knowing you are here for me, hearing your kind words of support, really really do help. It's something I need... it reminds me that I am less alone. Thank you.

I am feeling a lot better today. Well, by a lot, I mean less nausea, I can totally tolerate sunlight and loud sounds and my head feels less painful. However, I also feel exhausted because I slept really badly. But, I think this is definitely the tail end of the migraine so I can go back to work in the morning and I won't have to listen to my boss prattle on about how difficult it is to get cover and how much they need me and how much I 'cannot' be sick with that same migraine still.

Otherwise? I am seeing Rocky Horror again at the end of this week. I'm so excited! I just want to drag out my labcoat so I can do a futile attempt at dressing up for the event. I love this musical so much! And in addition to seeing Bo Bruce for my birthday, I now also have tickets for myself, my mum and a couple of friends to go and see Evita. The only downside to it is that Marti Pellow (ugh) is in it. I was pleasantly surprised by the amount of seats that were left - I managed to get the second cheapest ticket price for us, which was very good for my credit card! I thought, by now, it would have been mostly sold out to Marti Pellow fans. However, although Pellow is in it and I am no fan of his 'acting' and not all that impressed by his singing either (he should learn to warm up properly, seriously!), Evita is one of those musicals I have wanted to see for a long while and now I get to see it! Yay! This year has been a really good year for touring companies. I've only been to the West End once this year and I'm not even sure I'll be going again. (Though, I'll definitely want to make a return trip to Wicked after cast change... but cast change is in November, so it'll probably be 2014 by the time I'm back there. However, in saying that Kim was saying that she and Dad would quite like to meet me and Gary in London one weekend to see a show so hmm...)

I still want to rewatch the season 5 Mentalist episodes and review them properly. However, for everything else, I need to catch up on and do some succinct reviews. I'll probably give the Bo Bruce, Gabrielle Aplin and Emmelie De Forest albums another proper listen through before commenting on them. Listening at work just doesn't quite cut it. I also have two Taylor Swift albums somewhere and the Emeli Sande album to actually listen to for the first time as well. But it'll all come in time. For now...

Not really.

Well sort of not really.

It was an accident.

On her birthday, I took her to see Midnight Tango at the local theatre which I covered nicely just here. The driver's side window on Mum's car doesn't work... so when we left the multi-storey, I had to get out, put the ticket in the machine and get back in again. All good fun. Except, when I was climbing back in, I had my right leg in the car and her foot slipped off the clutch at exactly the same moment. So, the car rolled back and hit my knee.

And it's still hurting today. So.... went to the doctor's after two days' worth of pain (thanks to two shifts at work). I've sprained the ligament between my kneecap and lower leg. And then I got told I have to have total bedrest for a fortnight. They'll love me at work because now, I have to have two weeks off. But it's either that or have this becoming a persistent problem where I am not going to be able to work for even longer.

Even so, blargh. Pain.
